Yellow Cab has teamed up with Austin Energy and donated advertising space on 75 taxicab billboards. The two messages that are currently seen around town are: “If you can’t breathe, nothing else matters” and “ Follow the road to clean, renewable fuel”. We are happy to support the Central Texas Clean Cities initiative to provide a healthy quality of living for the citizens of Austin. The University of Texas Police Department graciously invited Yellow Cab to participate in the UTPD National Night Out kick-off party July 27th. UTPD also invited all Greater Austin area police departments to come to the UT campus and provide information to the campus citizens about planned National Night Out activities. Our "Big Ole Caddy" was popular with the officers and helped draw the crowd's attention.

Yellow Cab's Caddy is a popular attraction at community parades. The annual Pride Parade promotes Equal Rights. The 2005 Pride Parade featured our Big Ol’ Cadillac Convertible, with Customer Service Representative Trip White at the wheel and hard working Dispatcher Delonda Adams and Marketing Manager Cindy Sanders, dressed as Lady Justice, in the back. We were pleased to receive the award for ‘Best Vehicle’. The popular promotional vehicle was also showcased in the Juneteenth Parade. At right is our "Big Ole Caddy" carrying Lady Justice at the Pride Parade. Below is a photo of the popular Caddy's appearance in the Juneteenth Parade.

The annual awards event is designed to honor and recognize Chamber member businesses that demonstrate leadership and achievement in business. Yellow Cab’s display of innovation, ranging from digital cameras and a global positioning system (GPS), to pre-paid TaxiCards and Web features, such as Fare Estimator and online ordering service, positioned the company as a cutting-edge business.
Yellow Cab is a proud sponsor of the MDA Lockup program in Austin. The Muscular Dystrophy Association works to conquer 40 neuromuscular diseases that affect hundreds of thousands of Americans,
Yellow Cab has been a donor to many organizations in and around Austin including: The 100 Club of Central Texas, The Center for Child Protection, The Travis County Sheriff’s Office, Literacy in Action, and the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce.
In April 2005, Yellow Cab made a contribution to the Austin Public Library Foundation for the Cepeda Music Garden. The garden will celebrate the importance of the contributions of East Austin musicians, both past and present. The Cepeda Branch Library will house the music and archives of the artists featured in the garden and other figures in the tradition.

Yellow Cab Austin celebrated 20 years in the Hill Country in April 2005 by donating one hundred $25
TaxiCards to SafePlace, which provides a safe place for women, children and men who have been victimized by rape, sexual abuse and domestic violence. Yellow Cab’s president and general manager, Jim Connolly, cab drivers and employees donated the TaxiCards along with a “taxi” birthday cake from Sweetish Hill Bakery. "April is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month," noted Mr. Connolly as he presented the donation to SafePlace.
As part of the 20th anniversary festivities, Yellow Cab held a party during which we honored those employees and independent contractor drivers who have been part of the team since Day One. We also delivered "taxi cakes" specially baked by Sweetish Hill, to members of the media.
Yellow Cab is assisting the Austin Police Department Central West Area Command (CWAC) District Representative Unit in its efforts to reduce the number of DWIs by establishing a cab stand at the Dallas Nightclub. Our company is one of the sponsor's of the nightclub's “Sound Attitude” program, which recognizes and rewards designated drivers.
Yellow Cab is proud to be the primary transportation provider for Sober Ride of Austin, which provides a safe ride home to people who have over indulged at participating establishments on Halloween, New Year's Eve and Mardi Gras.
Yellow Cab has donated taxi service to Project Transitions during its annual "Holiday Swing," a December fund raiser which benefits housing for people living with life threatening illnesses.
Yellow Cab sponsored "Fort Hood Night" during the Round Rock Express 2004 Season, enabling soldiers and their families to enjoy a free night at the ballgame.
Yellow Cab was a sponsor of the "Keep Austin Weird" 5K run and festival, benefiting Barton Springs, in August 2004.
Yellow Cab supports the AIDS Emergency Relief Fund of Austin.
